This
game was played last evening between the Earth Defense Force, and the Dark Nebulans.
It was a very quick game, and I apologize if the pics are not up to snuff.
Hope you enjoy - it was a helluva game.
Turn
1:
The fleets have visual contact, and advance cautiously.
The EDF takes an aggressive posture, forming a wedge behind the frigates and
destroyers.

Anchoring
the wedge are Andromeda II and Musashi
class battleships, as well as the veteran crew of the infamous Argo.

The
malevolent Dark Nebulans form two battle lines. Formidable Neter
class frigates advance ahead of the larger capital ships. Dwarfing all other
warships, the colossal SBB Pleiades readies the Super Heavy Beta Canons.

At a range of almost three times greater than any EDF guns, the Pleiades fires
the Beta Cannons, and destroys the lead EDF frigate!
Turns
2-3:
The EDF captain recognizes the massive range advantage of his adversary, and
orders all ships “all ahead full”.
The Black Fleet comes to a halt to carefully aim the long range guns. As long
as the EDF is out of range, the Nebulans can fire with impunity.
At first the Pleiades is unable to find its target, but as the fleets gets closer
the EDF Musashi is pounded with 2 devastating
hits. The battleship loses its hangar and the ability to control its anti-missile
batteries.

Turns
4-5
The EDF force continues to accelerate and now closes into firing range. The
speedier escorts have outpaced the battleships, and continue to head for the
enemy fleet at full speed. Two of the smaller vessels are vaporized by the relentless
Dark Nebulan barrage.

The Black Fleet moves to counter the EDF wedge, and uses its special side thrusters
to split the formation for an envelopment attack.

In the exchange of fire that follows, the Argo and a Konigsberg
patrol cruiser line up their Wave Motion Guns, and fire them into the right
flank of the enemy formation! Both frigates are instantly destroyed, but the
Teraz cruiser survives although it is
badly crippled.
Turn
6
The formations meet! The EDF escorts speed through the gap in the center, leaving
the battleships nose to nose with the Dark Nebulans.

The Black Fleet launches a massive salvo of missiles at the EDF Musashi.
With its defense bridge out of action, it was unable to defend itself and is
destroyed in a massive explosion!!

There is a terrible exchange of energy weapons, and two Nebulan cruisers are
destroyed. The Andromeda II is hammered
by direct fire, while the EDF (to their horror) discovers that the massive SBB
Pleiades is impervious to their batteries!
Turn
7
The EDF fleet makes hard turns to reverse direction, while the Black Fleet continues
to encircle them.

Once again the Black Fleet concentrates missile fire in the SBB Andromeda
II. Without escorts, it is destroyed by a massive salvo of warheads!

The Argo responds by destroying the last Nebulan cruiser with the powerful Wave
Motion Missiles!
Although the battle is close, it takes a terrible turn for the EDF when the
Argo loses its Wave Motion Gun to enemy fire. Several secondary explosions dangerously
weaken the hull, and cripple the Argo’s engine.
Their situation turns to desperation when the SBB Pleiades destroys an EDF cruiser.
Turn 8
In the climatic finale, the battle looks lost for the EDF. The escorts are lost,
and the remaining two cruisers are damaged. Their batteries are unable to penetrate
the massive armor of the undamaged Pleiades.
The Argo is gutted, the engine without power, and the Wave Motion Gun is useless.
The Dark Nebulans again combine missile fire against the Argo, but miraculously
it survives!!

As a last act of defiance, the Argo loads Wave Motion Cartridges into the remaining
main guns and fires at the mighty Pleiades. Two of the guns strike home, and
penetrate the Supra Armor...
A secondary explosion breaches the engine shielding, and the Pleiades explodes!
The last remaining Dark Nebulans flee for open space, and once again the Argo
is victorious!
